CLUBS

The four-week clubs have now finished. Thank you to all the staff who give up their time running clubs for the children. Please bring your child’s Children’s University passport in if they have forgotten to log in their hours.

CHILDREN IN NEED

What an array of costumes we had. Thank you everyone who was able to contribute as a school we raised over £300.

REMEMBRANCE DAY

Mrs John attended the remembrance service in the Knightswick Centre. Logan C and Evie M accompanied her, behaving impeccably, whilst laying a wreath on behalf of the school.

YEAR 5 RSE PARENT/CARER SESSIONS

I hope the parent/carers that were able to attend one of the RSE sessions for Year 5 found them helpful and informative. The children will be having their sessions with Miss Hartley in December.

GIRLS’ FOOTBALL

After all the recent cup action, it was time for the girl’s to play their first league game of the season. They played a strong team from Winter Gardens eventually winning 2-0. The girls have also played a friendly match against William Read. This gave the opportunity for some of the younger and less experienced players to enjoy playing a match which we won 3-2.

GIRLS’ NETBALL

The girl’s have played their second league game. We were all quite nervous about the match, as Thundersley have an exceptionally good team this year. Mrs Lamy and Mrs Rowsell were really pleased at how well they tried and played as a team. They were eventually beaten 6-3 but showed great resilience and sporting behaviour.

ACL COURSE

We held a successful Adult Community Learning course on Zones of Regulation. This was well attended, so more courses will run next year.

HAPPINESS HEROES

Year 3 – Honey G, Grae T, Florence C, Emilie S, Brody S, Isla-Rose P.

Year 4 – Mason W, Beau D, Albert B, Sophie S, Cassia-Rose H, Esmae S.

Year 5 – Paige L, Ronnie S, Daniel W, Jessica C, Blaire B, Lily-Rae M.

Year 6 – Logan C, Evie M, Maddison W, Finley M, Shanice W, Kacie-May D.

These children have been chosen as our ‘Happiness Heroes.; They will be available on the playground to support other children.

DENTAL SCREENING

Following the assemblies earlier this term, nearly 100, Year 1 and Year 3 children participated in the dental screening program. The dentist commented on how well behaved and sensible they were – well done!

ROTARY DICTIONARIES

The Rotary Club visited the school recently. They presented all of the children in Year 4 with their own dictionary. This continues a tradition that has run for nearly 20 years.

ODD SOCK DAY

On Monday, we took part in Odd Sock Day, a day to show our awareness of Anti-Bullying week and to celebrate what makes us all unique. The children have spent time this week participating in a range of activities around Anti-Bullying week.
