In the spring term Year 1 learnt all about Polar explorers and Antarctica. We learnt about the race between Robert Falcon Scott and Roald Amundsen.

We enjoyed recreating our own race and finding out all about the animals that live in Antarctica.

We also learnt about Islands. We compared Canvey Island to Hawaii, and designed a new part of the sea wall after researching about the Canvey Floods.
