Become familiar with money by exploring the value of all notes and coins.

-Set up a shop at home and calculate costs and change for different items.

-Write a shopping list and work out the cost of the items.

-Which coins can you use to pay for different items?

Practise telling the time on digital and analogue clocks.

-Work out how long your favourite tv programs last.

-Familiarise yourself with days of the week and months of the year – find out when your family’s birthdays are and work out how many days/weeks/months until their birthdays.

Using the four operations, your work on money and your work on time, write some problems and give your family a maths quiz -Don’t forget to work out the answers first so you know if they are right or wrong. You could base it on a theme that you are interested in e.g. superheroes/ unicorns!

Here is an example:

“Spiderman’s favourite TV show started at 7:30 and finished at 8:10. How long did it last?”
