Northwick Park Primary Academy              March 2018 (2)

CROSS COUNTRY

The team enjoyed the experience of competing at this annual event where there are over one hundred and fifty runners in every race.  All our team completed the challenging course. A special mention goes to Olivia Westerberg and Kayleigh Cox who finished 21st and 40th respectively.

NETBALL

Our girls played their first league team.  Despite coming up against a very strong team from Jotmans Hall, they enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to their next match.

GIRLS FOOTBALL

In a very close game our team just lost (2-0) to Kents Hill.  As the majority of the team are in Year 5, we have high hopes for next season!

BOYS FOOTBALL

At last a win! A magnificent team effort enabled a 6-1 win against William Read.  All the team played well, especially Kelson McFarlane who scored a hat trick.

FOOTBALL BREAKFAST

As a reward for attending early morning training every week, the boys football team were treated to an amazing full English breakfast cooked by Mrs Painter.

YEAR TWO AT DEANES

This term it was 2GA’s turn to represent the school at a festival at Deanes.  All the children enjoyed the experience of participating in a range of activities with other schools.

YEAR FIVE AT DEANES

A small group of Year 5 children were chosen to participate in an Active Festival at Deanes.  They participated in a range of activities including volleyball, tennis and boot camp.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

We have recently received the results of the mountain Biking Competition.  Well done to all the team but especially Jessica Morrell who won a Gold Medal and Jayden Hoffman a Silver.

CASTLE VIEW DANCE SHOW

As part of their World War 2 topic, Year 6 have been learning the Lindy Hop dance.  A group of children were invited to be part of the Castle View Dance Show.  They gave an outstanding performance which was enjoyed by the rest of Year 6 who were invited to watch the dress rehearsal.

SPORTS RELIEF

Thank you to everyone who supported this event.  The weather stayed dry for everyone to walk a mile and the school raised over £400 for this worthy cause.

SKIPPING WORKSHOP

Children in Years 1 to 4 enjoyed learning skipping skills and then using these to play playground games.  In the presentation at the end of the day, we were amazed by their skills.  After Easter there will be a designated skipping area on both playgrounds.

OPERA

They wrote the script, composed the music, designed the set and sewed the costumes – all under the direction of their own production team the 64 Stingers Company.  Well done Year 4, we all had a brilliant time at the Opera.

YEAR 3 FOLK MUSIC PROJECT

Following on from their sessions in school, Year 3 joined other schools at St Nicholas Church to share the songs they have been learning.

YEAR 6 SATs PREPARATION

Thank you to all the parents who were able to attend the Year 6 SATs meeting and parent consultations.  Year 6 are working incredibly hard to prepare for their SATs in May.  I look forward to seeing some of you next week at Easter Revision classes.
