Year 4 2019-20

Year 4- Spring Term Newsletter

Class teachers in year 4 continue to be Mrs Corbyn, Miss Leader and Miss Mattey. Mrs John and Mrs Hyde are teaching a maths set and Mrs Clark and Mrs Hyde are teaching an English set. The Learning Support Assistants working with us are Mrs Annison, Mrs Heuer, Mrs Conroy and Mrs Armstrong. We’re also lucky enough to have a trainee teacher working alongside us.

This term year 4 start their swimming lessons at Waterside.  Those that are not swimming will be taking part in a range of sporting activities led by Mel in school.   Indoor PE for all classes will be on a Friday.  Full PE kits must be in school and earring and other jewellery must not be worn.

WOW moments – Autumn Term

Last term, year 4 enjoyed lots of exciting opportunities at school.

Children should be wearing red polo shirts, black trousers or skirts and black footwear.  Black jeans are not allowed and leggings can only be worn under a skirt.  Long hair must be tied back and nail varnish and nail extensions should not be worn in school.

We are visiting Colchester Castle on 4th February.  Everyone is really looking forward to it.  In the summer term, year 4 also visit Writtle College to learn about food and agriculture.

In order for every child to reach their full potential it is vital that they are in school every day. There is an attendance award for the class with the best attendance for the month. If for any reason your child is not able to attend school you must contact the school’s Attendance Officer, Mrs Hull, as soon as possible.
