We have indoor PE on Tuesdays; the children are required to wear black shorts and a red or white t-shirt. Our outdoor PE lesson takes place on Fridays and in addition to the above kit the children also require warm clothes and outdoor PE shoes. Please be advised long hair must be tied back and earrings are not permitted.
In addition to this, the children will have the opportunity to participate in Archery and Forest schools. Please ensure a long sleeved top is provided for Archery and appropriate clothing for their Forest school sessions. Dates will follow
The children will be given half termly creative homework which will be celebrated as a year group at the end of each half term. In addition to this, the children will receive an overview of the objectives they will be covering in maths in order for them to continue their learning at home. This will be checked every Wednesday by the class teacher. We offer a homework club straight after school on Monday and Tuesday, which we hope the children will take advantage of.
Please support your child by reading at home at least three times a week. If your child is unable to complete this then they can read to an adult by attending our lunchtime reading club. The Reading Café will continue, with dates to follow.
We also offer other clubs before and after school which we hope your children will take advantage of, the list is current being finalised and will be sent home shortly.
We try to encourage healthy tuck at Northwick Park, please remember this can be purchased from our trolley. Prices start at 10p but please ensure no more than 50p per day is brought in by the children.
The cost of school dinners is £2.00 per day. Please send money in a named envelope.
Just to remind you that locker space is limited and your child’s bag should be no bigger than a reading folder please.

Throughout the year the children will cover lots of exciting topics including The Vikings, Space, Inventions and Ancient China. From these topics we shall complete a range of creative art and DT lessons.
As a school we would like to improve attendance this year, please help us by ensuring your child is in school, on time and ready to learn.
In year 5, we offer a range of exciting clubs to allow the children to collect hours for their Children’s University Passport. We look forward to seeing your child graduate in the near future.
