EASTER SCHOOL

Well done to all of the Year 6 children who were able to attend Easter School during the holidays or complete their Easter revision pack.  Since we returned to school, you have continued to work really hard – well done!

TINY MAGIC ORCHESTRA

What a wonderful way to start the term! Year One and Year Two were treated to a performance from the Tiny Magic Orchestra. It was a fun exciting music event for the children whilst learning about all the different instruments that were being played.

PANATHLON AT DEANES

A team from Year 6 participated in a Panathlon competition at Deanes. They had a brilliant time and finished in second place winning a silver medal, narrowly beaten to the gold by William Read. They all behaved impeccably and showed really good sportspersonship.

GIRL’S FOOTBALL TEA

Our 2024/2025 girls’ football team were invited to afternoon tea. This was in recognition of their hard work and commitment during training and matches.

EASTER MUSIC WORKSHOP

Several of our young musicians joined pupils from other Canvey schools to complete a three-day project at William Read run by the Southend Song School.  Over the three days they wrote a song, composed the music and made a film. This is now being edited ready for a film preview and the song to be released on YouTube.

CANVEY SCHOOLS’ FOOTBALL AND NETBALL LEAGUES 2025

Final places

Boys football 1st

Girls football 3rd

Girls netball 3rd

Mixed netball 4th

Well done to all of them and thank you to the staff who give up their time to coach the teams and parents/carers for your support at matches and with attendance for training.

MHST ASSEMBLIES

Years 3, 4 and 5 have attended very informative assemblies. The topic was around 5 ways to wellbeing.

RECEPTION CLUBS

Reception clubs start today and will run for 3 weeks. Don’t forget all the children can log their hours on their paper passport and start on their Children’s University journey.

HI FIVE AT DEANES

Our Hi Five mixed team went to Deanes to participate in a festival. They played really well enjoying the experience of playing against teams from Castle Point and Rochford. As usual, behaviour and sportspersonship were impeccable. The team finished third in their group narrowly missing out on a progression to the semi-finals.

LONDON MARATHON

A huge well done to Miss Shaw and Miss Gardner for completing the London Marathon on Sunday. We are all really proud of you.

RECEPTION AND NURSERY LITTLE CITY DAY

Reception and Nursery have had a visit from ‘Little City.’ They all had a wonderful time dressing up and exploring different professions. They got to be vets, mechanics, hairdressers, builders and so much more!

PSHE MEETINGS

Thank you to all the parents/carers who were able to join Miss Hartley for the PSHE meetings. I hope you found them informative.

RECEPTION LEARN TO RIDE

Hadleigh Park Cycles visited the school this week to teach the reception children to ride (or improve their skills). They all had a fantastic time with many mastering how to ride unaided for the first time.

YEAR 4 SWIMMING

Among much excitement, Year 4 have started their swimming lessons. Well done to all of you and we look forward to seeing your progress in the pool during this term.

EDEN OASIS

As part of their work on mini beasts, Year 1 had a visit from Eden Oasis. They were incredibly sensible as they got to hold a variety of insects and small creatures.
